Support and Instructions

Open the skill by saying "Alexa, open Quote Blake"

Initiate a search by saying Quote and then your search terms, for example, Quote federation.

If there are multiple results returned, one will be selected at random.

You can obtain a random quote by saying Quote rando

You can filter by season/series by adding the season number or name, for example: Quote series b expendable

For a random quote filtered by season, just add the season number or name, for example: Quote series b (There's no need for the rando command, we'll work it out automatically.)

Character names

Adding a character name will look for results where someone says that character's name.

For results said BY a character, add cast after that character's name in your request: Quote Avon cast expendable

For a random result said BY a character, just add cast after that character's name: Quote Avon cast

Filters can be combined: Quote Avon cast series d

Character names (and planet names etc.) can be spelt out. E.g. for a quote about Ensor, you can say Quote E N S O R.

Information

Once a clip has played, you can find out more about it by saying Information or Tell me about that clip or Where was that quote from?

Advanced

The latest version of the Skill now has a more advanced recognition routine, so you can try and search with more natural speech.

For example, Find a quote about Zen or Play a clip where Gan says 'My Woman' or Find a clip where Avon says rando.

Support

Alexa has no idea how most B7 characters or planet names are pronounced, so it guesses at what you've said. For example, it sends 'Soolin' to us as 'Sue Lynn'. We then have to convert this back to Soolin to perform the search. We may not have added the 'helper' code needed to convert your particular search terms to something that we can find in our database.

Have a look at the top 5 searches at the top of the page. Is your search there? Did Alexa catch it correctly? Did we correct it?

If not, you can either: try again and spell the character name / words out, letter by letter to Alexa, or get in touch and let us know!

If you do have any issues, you can contact us or send us a tweet at @blakes7bot.
